The Project Management Qualification is APM's Level 7, broad-based credential, and a recognised benchmark for people who run projects: it proves a genuine working command of the full project management discipline, not just its vocabulary.

Each module builds the way a real project does, and a single running case study, a company replacing its payroll system, threads through all four content areas, so every concept is applied to a real situation before you are tested on it.

It is also a recognised step toward Chartered Project Professional (ChPP), APM's highest standard. The PMQ is one of the qualifications that opens Pathway 3 to chartership, so passing it can be the start of a longer professional trajectory, not just an exam.

Exam format

40 questions, 90 marks
A mix of multiple response, select-from-list, short-response and long-response questions across the full syllabus. The long-response questions carry over half the marks, so written technique matters.
Two and a half hours, in two parts
The exam runs to two hours thirty minutes, split into two parts with an optional break between them. Our mock runs to the same structure and clock.
70% pass mark
You need 63 of the 90 marks. There is no negative marking, so it always pays to attempt every question, even where you are uncertain.
Online or test centre
The exam is sat online through APM's platform with remote invigilation, or at an approved test centre. You book directly through APM or an accredited provider, not through Qudrane.

Frequently asked

Does the PMQ count toward APM Chartership (ChPP)?
Yes, it is a recognised step toward it. The PMQ is one of APM's recognised qualifications for Pathway 3 to Chartered Project Professional (ChPP), APM's highest standard. Holding the PMQ, alongside validated project experience, makes you eligible to apply for ChPP via Pathway 3, a route that recognises your prior attainment and streamlines the application. Chartership also requires you to evidence your experience and pass APM's own assessment. This course prepares you for the PMQ exam, which is the qualification that opens that pathway.

What happens when my access is about to expire?
We'll email you about two weeks before your access ends. Access still ends on the expiry date. The email is a heads-up, not an extension.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, you can request a refund, but because our courses are digital products with immediate access to course materials, mock exams and certificates, refund requests are reviewed individually. If you have not started the course, a refund within 14 days is normally straightforward. Is the official APM exam included in the £199?
No. The £199 gives you full access to the Qudrane PMQ course, all five modules, the running case study, the mock exam and your certificate of completion. The official APM Project Management Qualification exam is not included and must be booked and paid for separately with APM. Our course prepares you for that exam; it is not the exam itself.
How do I book my PMQ exam?
This course prepares you for the content of the exam, but booking and sitting it happens through APM or one of its accredited providers, not through us. You can find booking options on APM's PMQ page. The exam is sat online with remote invigilation or at an approved test centre.
Do I need any prior experience or qualifications?
There are no formal prerequisites for PMQ, though it is a Level 7 qualification and more advanced than PFQ. Many candidates come to it with some project experience or after completing PFQ. The course builds each area thoroughly from the ground up.
Is this an official APM exam?
No. This is independent preparation content aligned to APM's published Project Management Qualification syllabus and the APM Body of Knowledge.
Are you accredited by APM?
No, and that is a deliberate choice. Formal accreditation carries significant ongoing fees, and those fees would end up in the price you pay. We would rather put everything into the training itself: best in class courses for professional qualifications, built by top professionals in both the subject matter and in learning development, priced so they stay accessible to everyone, whatever stage of your career you are at and whatever your background. This course is aligned to APM's published syllabus, so nothing about the exam is left out.
What is the difference between PFQ and PMQ?
PFQ is APM's entry-level qualification, assessed by a one-hour multiple-choice exam. PMQ is the more advanced Level 7 qualification, assessed by a two-and-a-half-hour exam that includes written long-response questions, and it covers the discipline in far more depth.
